Biography
Ben Walter is the Chief Executive Officer of Chase Business Banking. The business provides financial advice as well as deposit, credit and cash management products to more than 5 million small business owners with up to $20 million in annual revenue. The firm was also the #1 Paycheck Protection Program lender, providing more than $40 billion in relief to small businesses during the most challenging times of COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021.
Through more than 20 years in consumer and financial services, Walter has always put customers first. That has helped him drive business growth and build worldwide retail brands.
Before joining Chase in 2021, Walter served in senior roles – U.S. Chief Operating Officer, CEO of the U.S. Division, and Global Retail CEO – over 10 years at Hiscox, a leader in specialty insurance for small and medium-sized businesses. He drove double-digit growth, product innovation, and large-scale digital transformation. Before Hiscox, Walter was a Managing Director in the San Francisco office at BlackRock, where he led initiatives in strategy, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, and operational excellence.
Walter earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University. He and his wife have two children and live in New York.
