Biography
Ben Walter is the Chief Executive Officer of Chase Business Banking, a trusted financial partner to nearly 6 million small businesses across the U.S. It helps businesses of all sizes and industries start, run and grow through banking, cash management and lending as well as trusted advice through its extensive branch network and powerful digital tools.
That has made Chase the #1 primary bank for small business owners in the United States and #2 in small business card spend. During the most challenging days of COVID-19, the firm was the #1 Paycheck Protection Program lender, providing more than $40 billion in relief through more than 400,000 loans.
Through more than 20 years of financial services and retail strategy experience, Walter has been fueled by a passion for small business and thinking customer first. Before joining Chase in 2021, he was Global Retail CEO for Hiscox, a leader in specialty insurance for small and medium-sized businesses. Before that he was the company’s Chief Operating Officer in the U.S.
Walter earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University. He and his wife have two children and live in New York.
