Peter Muriungi

Biography
Peter Muriungi is the chief executive officer of Connected Commerce and a member of the Consumer & Community Banking Leadership team. Connected Commerce connects its more than 70 million digitally active customers with relevant merchant brands and experiences through Chase’s travel, dining, shopping, offers, lending programs and consumer and small business payments offerings.
Peter has held various leadership roles at Chase since 2013, most recently as the CEO of Chase Auto, a leading provider of auto financing with a portfolio of more than $88 billion in assets and relationships with 75% of U.S. franchised automotive dealers. In Home Lending, Peter served as Head of Transformation and as Head of Servicing where he led significant improvements in the customer experience as evidenced by record customer satisfaction and J.D. Power results, including #1 big bank in the annual national servicer’s survey two years in a row. During his time in Home Lending, Peter managed a portfolio of 7.3 million mortgages representing a combined balance of $1 trillion.
Peter serves as the South Regional Chair of the Market Leadership team, executing strategic priorities across the eight southern states he oversees for the firm. Peter lends an influential voice to the firm’s important commitment to diversity and inclusion. He is a member of JPMorgan Chase’s Black Executive Forum and the Executive Sponsor of The Fellowship Initiative in Dallas. He is also on the Board of Directors of Big Thought, a non-profit that helps bridge the opportunity gap for disadvantaged youth.
Prior to joining Chase, Peter was Senior Vice President of Special Portfolio Management and Servicing Strategies at GMAC Mortgage, where he managed their special servicing unit and single point of contact customer care center, among other responsibilities. Before joining GMAC Mortgage, Peter was Senior Vice President of Strategy and Analytics at EMC Mortgage Corporation.
Peter holds an MBA from East Texas Baptist University and a bachelor’s degree in international business from the United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya.
