Biography
Peter J. Neilson is a Managing Director and the Chief Compliance Officer for Consumer & Community Banking, Global Head for Financial Crimes Compliance and JPMC’s Bank Secrecy Act Designated Officer. Peter’s previous roles at the firm include serving as the Global Head of Transaction Monitoring and Suspicious Activity Reporting as well as the Global Financial Crime Head of the Consumer and Community Banking line of business. He joined JPMorgan Chase in 2013.
Peter has also held several senior positions at other financial institutions. Until 2013, he was Managing Vice President and the designated BSA/AML at Capital One. In this capacity, his responsibilities included development and execution of the AML strategic plan to implement a compliance governance program across the bank; including key technology initiatives, enhancement of surveillance systems, operational processes and other controls necessary under the USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, Peter worked at Wachovia and Wells Fargo.
He has a BA in Government from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, and serves on various industry forums advising on key AML/BSA topics.
