Chase Freedom® Makes Gas Stations, Drugstores and Tolls the New Quarterly 5% Cash Back Rewards Categories

From everyday commutes to a weekend getaway, Chase Freedom rides along with rewards

Wilmington, Del. Dec 13, 2018 Today, Chase Freedom announced three rewards categories to start 2019 off fast: gas stations, drugstores and tolls. Cardmembers can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in the categories from January 1 through March 31.

Chase launches tolls as a new category this quarter and pairs it with gas stations and drugstores, two cardmember favorites.

“Whether for the daily commute or a weekend getaway, Chase Freedom is helping cardmembers earn more cash back as they travel during the quarter,” said BJ Mahoney, General Manager of Chase Freedom. “We’re also boosting rewards when they’re buying those necessities and maybe more at a drugstore.”

From January 1 through March 31, Chase Freedom cardmembers can earn 5% cash back on the following purchases:

  • Gas Stations: Even as gas prices fluctuate, Chase Freedom cardmembers can maximize their spending and earn 5% cash back when they fuel up at gas stations.
  • Drugstores: From everyday necessities to stocking up on cold medicine this flu season, Chase Freedom is helping customers earn cash back on many of their winter must-haves.
  • Tolls: Whether it’s visiting colleges, weekend getaways or just their daily commute – Chase Freedom cardmembers can earn 5% cash back on tolls on their next trip.

In addition to the quarterly category offers, the Chase Freedom card provides many benefits to customers – 1% cash back on all other purchases, rewards that don’t expire with no minimum value to redeem, and no annual fee.
